In Berlin, street food is part of the culture and even experts of the street food scene sometimes lose track of where to find which currywurst and what it tastes like. That's why currywurst.berlin exists. We aim to include the city's most interesting currywurst snack bars in our currywurst finder. We visit many of them at regularly to get an up-to-date impression. These visits result in a rating, which is also intended to create comparability by awarding stars for various aspects.

The evaluation of the currywurst itself is particularly important. In addition to an experienced palate, the ability to describe taste experiences precisely is also essential. We take the following criteria into account when evaluating currywurst snack bars as a whole:

1. Taste: Here, it's all about the consistency and taste of the sausage as well as the taste and seasoning of the sauce and how it harmonizes with the sausage. For optimum comparability, a currywurst without casing is always tasted where possible.

2. Ambience: An important aspect that contributes to the experience as much as the currywurst itself is the atmosphere at the snack stand. It is not important whether the snack bar is traditionally or modernly furnished. What counts above all is the cleanliness of the snack bar and the immediate surroundings, as well as the service and friendliness of the staff.

3. Price: This classification is not a subjective assessment of the price-performance ratio, but a price index. The price of a currywurst without a casing from the respective snack bar is set in relation to all other (known) prices for currywurst in Berlin (theoretically possible differences in weight are ignored). This ratio is shown in three price categories, with one euro symbol indicating a comparatively cheap currywurst and three euro symbols indicating a relatively expensive one.

4. Overall rating: This summarizes all the previous criteria, weights each category according to a universally defined formula and gives a final rating on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. This overall rating is decisive for the final recommendation. In addition, each visit to a snack bar also results in a detailed experience report, which provides an impression of the expected experience beyond the star rating. Together, the experience report and the star rating provide a comprehensive impression for interested visitors.
